Dear Library Science Students
The MOBIUS Annual Conference is looking for volunteers to help staff and serve the attendees of the 2014 Annual Conference! We’re hosting the conference in Columbia, MO this year at the Holiday Inn Executive Center. The event will run June 2nd–4th, but we will only need volunteers on June 2nd and 3rd.
We are looking for 6 student volunteers to assist with various duties on Monday, June 2nd and Tuesday, the 3rd, as well as a pre-conference work day in late May (tentatively set for Saturday, May 31). The pre-conference work day will require meeting at the MOBIUS facility in Columbia for a couple of hours to put together the conference bags. Duties for the afternoon/evening of June 2nd and during the day on June 3rd will include working at the registration desk, assisting with the sessions, helping direct attendees to session rooms, and assisting with problem resolution at the conference. We’ll do our best to let you go to sessions of your choosing too depending on what our needs are. June 4th, from 9AM–1PM, is a training day for our members. We also welcome your attendance that day should there be a training topic that you’re interested in.
Student volunteers will be given free registration, which includes the Monday night reception, and one night’s lodging at the Holiday Inn Executive Center (if you’re not a Columbia/Jeff City resident). Transportation, food and incidentals will be the responsibility of the student volunteer.
If you are interested in submitting your name for consideration, please send a short paragraph describing why you would like to assist with the conference and your contact information to:Maegan Bragg
