Week 1: Access to Canvas Site

Students will be given access to the Canvas site no later than the end of the first week of classes in a semester.

Week 2: “Hints”

Hints for each of the four questions, including suggested readings, will be available by the end of business (Friday at 5:00 pm Central) during Week 2.

  • When in doubt, students can contact the faculty member responsible for the question for clarification or guidance.

Week 7 Comps Period (9-day period)

From the end of business on Friday (5:00 pm Central) of Week 6 through the beginning of business on Monday (8:00 am Central) of Week 8, students will have access to and will write the answers to the comps questions.

Week 8, Monday, 8:00 am Central: Submissions Due

Final versions of all four essays are due, per instructions in Canvas.

Week 10: Feedback Available

Faculty will provide feedback, in accordance with current policy by the end of business, Friday of Week 10 (5:00 pm Central).

Week 11, Friday, 5:00 pm Central: Revisions Due

Any requested revisions must be made and submitted to faculty in accordance with feedback, instructions, and current policy as posted.

Week 13: Final Feedback Available

Faculty will provide feedback, in accordance with current policy by the end of business, Friday of Week 13 (5:00 pm Central) or November 15/April 19, whichever comes first.

November 15/April 19

Chair of the LIS Program Graduate Examination Committee will supply results to SISLT/iSchool Student Services Office for processing.
All final feedback will be supplied to students through Canvas by this time.

Mid November through December: Processing

SISLT/iSchool Student Services Office completes forms, procures needed signatures, and submits M3 forms to MU Graduate Studies per the graduation deadlines chart at https://gradstudies.missouri.edu/current-students/graduation-commencement/graduation-checklist/ Graduate Studies then processes the results, completing the requirements for graduation for successful candidates.

Students must take care not to miss any deadlines in this process, as their graduation will be delayed a semester if work is not received on time.
